That's quite extraordinary. I really like the way they've introduced colour as well. It'a a lot more interesting and a lot less bleak from rubble left from the war.
Looks very nice now

Due to its strategic proximity to the northern coast of France and its naval pre-eminence, the city was heavily bombed by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War, an event known as the Plymouth Blitz.

@Fukfacewillie Yes it got hammered. My mum was moved to cornwall as a child when thousands were evacuated. Prior to that they were running to bomb shelters here.

@Perry1968 I wasn’t aware, as so much focus is on the London Blitz.
Yes! Are the two red circles indicating the same thing from different angles and times?

@Perry1968 That B&W one looks like a public display of what the town looked like, soon after V-E Day, I guess...? Or several months on?
Perry1968 · M
@SomeMichGuy Yes its been stuck to the shop window ever since. And yes Armada way just had a revamp. The town centre armada way. Fully pedestrianised and Cornwall st. New george street etc partly.
@Perry1968 That completely changes the character! Makes it ppl friendly.
Is the lower photograph looking down the street which is horizontal in the B&W photo (from the left)?

@SomeMichGuy In the black and white photo that taller building on the new pic would be to the far left of the black and white pic.
