I am fascinated looking at the marvelous architecture of Old Churches and buildings of 1200-1800s AD.

They had no degree in architecture from any college and yet they created those buildings which are still as strong as they were with a little bit of restoration. Let's have a look.

And these new buildings built by famous architects with so many formal college degrees, when rain will peep in them, nobody knows. And for how many years they will last, nobody knows.

These are beautiful too but nothing in comparison to the older Churches and buildings.
I like architecture.. but once you know the fundamental structure patterns and basic methods of doing things even the complexities are simple.. people in the modern age have this mentality that they are so much more intelligent than people of the stone age.. but the fact is people way back then had their own intellectuals as well ..

@SStarfish That intellectualism was higher than that of the one right now.
@DanielsASJ i think it's the same.. that people have the same mental capacity then as now .. people are just arrogant now like kids thinking they know more than their ancestors.. typical attitude stuff
They don’t make ‘em like that anymore..

Because it’s hard to lease out as office space

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Yes to commercialization but then, what about houses?
I do love the architecture it is beautiful in old churches, but it just saddens me that the Gospel isn't there in many old Cathedrals.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Brother, The time now and the time in future, Gospel has to be engraved in our heart and in our mind, for we would know little about which gathering is 'wolf' in 'sheep's' clothing. For this purpose, Holy Spirit is on Earth.
They are very subtle in nature.
@DanielsASJ Yep, it is present in the modern warehouse church and the humble little baptist chapel I attend for Bible study.

@BritishFailedAesthetic I am happy for you Brother.

The old buildings were built by artists and craftsman.

@Baremine And yet strong and sturdy

They can be amazing
@candycane I navigate by it in conjunction to the east liberty prysbyterian church when I used to hike through the area.... I could always spot this one because of the poorly maintained steeples.
