Tell me about your town/city

Please brag about it and share pics☺

Issaquah, Wa is nestled right at the base of the Cascade Mountains with mountain views, trails, retail shops, etc
Just down the steet from where I live you can watch the paragliders
Issaquah is about 17 miles from Seattle
We have a fish hatchery in the middle of town, every year the first week of October is Salmon Days when the salmon return to spawn
Issaquah is a recreational town with plenty of places to hike
We have a zoo here too
Costco's headquarters is here. I've walked around that lake many times
And Gilman Village, a cute area with gift shops and restaurants, etc. I frequently go to a Victorian tea room there, (Paisley Parlor)!

I live at the beach where Milton came ashore. We get views like this every day.

Bugs are a big deal here so pools are screened in.

The weather in the winter is absolutely gorgeous here. The weather is so warm in the winter that heat is not a building code requirement. Most restaurants and stores don't have heat at all.

You certainly do live in paradise!!!
I can see why many ppl move there even tho the threat of hurricanes exist.
Thank you for sharing pics of your area. They are spectacular! Another place to put on my bucket list!

@Musicman Really sad what happened to so many ppl. Glad you and your wife got out of there. Any idea when you can go home?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Blondily FPL, Florida Power and Light, says we should have our electricity back by Wednesday at 11:55 pm. Personally I don't get why they just don't say midnight. We will leave Alabama tomorrow and it is a two day drive home.

@Musicman Crazy how they say it like that! Thats great youll be headed home soon. I hope there was no damage to your house.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Blondily Fortunately our friends who stayed said our house is fine, but our rental properties at the beach took about four inches of water in them. ☹
Blondily · F
@Musicman Oh no. So you'll be busy dealing with that when you get back. 😞
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Blondily Yes I will. 😢😢😢
Blondily · F
@Musicman Sorry hope its not too costly!🙏🏻

@Blondily Me too. After hurricane Ian we put in claims to FEMA, that's who flood insurance is through, and our insurance company. FEMA flat out said they were not paying and to apply to the SBA, Small Business Administration, for a loan to repair our place. Our insurance company is owned by the state. After they seriously short changed us we tried suing them. The judge said they had already been sued too many times. He wouldn't hear the case and told us to be happy with what we got. 😡😡😡

@Musicman You've got to be kiddjng me? Thats outragoius having flood insurance that isnt going to cover it. Im just speechless. Talk about being cruel. Thats how I see it.
What about the current flood issue?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Blondily For 7 years I paid $4000 a year for flood insurance. After being blown off I didn't renew the policy. We'll see what the insurance company says this time.
Blondily · F
@Musicman Nothing but thievery! Too bad you can't sue them for stealing your money. Con artists. I hope your current insurance will be more honest.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Blondily Thank you very much. Please pray for a good outcome for us.
Blondily · F
@Musicman I certainly shall🙏🏻 🤗🙏🏻
