@Tminus6453 Yes. Makes me wonder whether its just because Hawaii is islands and isolated and are fairly young compared to the continental states.

@cherokeepatti Im surprised he's been spotted in every lower 48 states...i mean Rhode island?...or any of those eastern densely populated states...or even some flat barren, wide open states in the midwest

@Tminus6453 every state. Almost all states have some forests or dense woods, rivers or streams and wildlife such as wild pigs or deer to harvest. They say that’s basically what they need, forests for cover. Even Arizona and Nevada have some places they can hide. I think the Four Corners area has had quite a few sightings, the forest is not that dense but there are rivers in canyons that they’ve been seen at.

@Tminus6453 They call them Swamp Apes in the swampy states, they say they stink to high heaven. They’ve been sighting chasing with others wild pigs and when they catch one they’ll break their hind legs and leave it to suffer for a day or two in shallow swamp areas until after they finish eating the first one or two that they kill.

@cherokeepatti In my state, they call him the Skunk Ape.
One was spotted in a small town about ten or twelve miles from where I live.

@ProfessorPlum77 One was spotted within about a half-mile from where I used to live in a village. There is a fairly shallow river nearby and a state employee (Thinking a game warden because the river is closed off to the public for fishing) and there are a lot of deer and turkey in the area and poachers have been known to hunt around that area. The state employee made a report about the sighting but wished to remain anonymous. It’s a wooded around up and down the river which leads to a state park about a mile and a half away. There is another report that happened within my city on the other side next to a small airport. There’s a fairly dense patch of woods, rather small in the spot where it was sighted. Homeless had pitched tents but not many, just a handful & it was a quiet place. There is also a grocery store and outdoor mall down the road so they could buy food and fill up water jugs at outdoor hydrants. One of the homeless said he and his girlfriend had been living in that spot for about a couple years and the man was walking back to his tent and spotted one, he made eye contact and said it was tall, he high-tailed it back to his tent. I don’t know how much protection he thought the tent had but maybe the creature feared civilization enough stay back. This story was posted on Phantoms and Monsters website and the man said that they moved out of the sight somewhere else a couple years back. The camp was torn down by the city this summer, there were only 5 people living there then. This area has had a lot of development in the past 15 years, houses are being built everywhere there’s vacant land and if it was living a mile or two to the north maybe it decided to migrate somewhere else.

@cherokeepatti Incredible! And frightening.

@ProfessorPlum77 so many new housing developments now if they are really living out in those areas they will be migrating and trying to find a new place to live.
