Did the Bible come from Sumerians?

In attempting to prove the historical truth of the Bible, the archaeologists and scholars of the 19th century CE revealed that the biblical narratives held as absolute divine truths were later interpretations of the literature of the Sumerians.

I got into some trouble presenting that same case at a theology course run by the Roman Catholic church. But here is my opinion. Studies of the origins of the bible need to be always atleast twofold. One needs to look at the origins of the story and when it could have been written down. There's some evidence to claim that majority of the old testament was written down or transcribed anew after the exile to Babylon thus that explains the similarity of story
