Nope, kept a lot of people alive during the Great Depression when meat was scarce and the crops weren’t good due to droughts. My grandpa fished every chance he got right into his old age. Always had more fish than he could eat and would share them with us.

No he wasn't. Probably a carpenter before he started his ministry. Hung out with a few fishermen and used the analogy of fishing to illustrate to them what he wanted them to do if they followed him. He had no problem eating fish or meat, though, so I think eating either is OK.
