See what happened to this Ohio pastor who followed the teachings of Christ

Per AlterNet.org:

“Outrage spread Friday after the story about a pastor in Ohio who was arrested and charged for opening his church to homeless people when extreme cold weather struck his town gained national attention.

Chris Avell, the pastor of an evangelical church called Dad's Place in Bryan, Ohio, pleaded not guilty last Thursday to charges that he broke 18 restrictions in zoning code when he gave shelter to people who might otherwise have frozen to death.”

Far right fake Christians seem to have a problem with this. They seem to never ask themselves WWJD?

You are not the judge of who a Christian is, you never get involved with the Christian section here and here you are making judgements.

But YES he was following Christ's teachings and it was disgusting he was charged.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Please point out to me where in the Bible it says anything about the need to be involved in the Christian section here. In turn, once you have done that, I will point out to you Christ’s commandments to care for the poor, widows, and by extension, the homeless.
@KunsanVeteran I'm talking about enthusiasm.

Both Republicans and Democrats will enter heaven.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Once again, please point out to me where in the Bible it says anything about the need to be involved in the Christian section here. In turn, once you have done that, I will point out to you Christ’s commandments to care for the poor, widows, and by extension, the homeless.

Since you are failing that, please point to any place in the Scriptures where enthusiasm gets anyone into heaven. Apparently you don’t spend much time in the Word.

Once you have given me even one such example , then I will point out to you the many, many times the commandments that Christ teaches us as to how to care for the less fortunate.
@KunsanVeteran How much have you given to help homeless and refugees recently?

While we're at it, how was Sunday service? 😏
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic Both irrelevant to the discussion. The discussion is: do you need to be involved in the Christian section on Similar World to raise a question about what Christ expects from Christians and what role enthusiasm plays in salvation—both of which were framed by you and are irrelevant. Until you defend with examples from Scripture why either is relevant (as you brought up both and have not supported them, I will not move on the giving you examples of the behaviors Christ expects of His followers.

In other words, prove your position with Biblical evidence.
@KunsanVeteran Oh, stop going back to that point. 🙄

Salvation is by faith through grace alone, meaning someone can still be a Trumper and Christian.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Can they? Can a true Christian listen to the things he says, look at his actions, and support him? Show me a Bible verse that defends this. The Bible clearly states no one can support two masters. Matthew 6:24.
@KunsanVeteran Only you Americans equate politics with Christian faith- on both sides.

Again, how was church?
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic Sorry, this discussion is about fake Christians who claim to be Christians and who completely disregard (and disobey) Christ’s teachings. Why are you trying to derail that conversation? Because you really believe it doesn’t matter or because you think Christians should disregard cases like this?
@KunsanVeteran I have already told you it was disgusting that the pastor got into trouble.

I just think you are not the judge of who is and who isn't a Christian!

@BritishFailedAesthetic Matthew 12:25
@KunsanVeteran Talking about faith not politics, now quit your politics obsession and get more passion for Christ.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic You think Christians do not have an obligation to call out sin? You quietly condone it? Because that is the side of the conversation you entered.

Try reading the Acts of the Apostles to learn what a true Christian life entails.
@KunsanVeteran I am aware. You only bring up faith when politics is involved.
