For those who are so down on Jesus, there's always two sides of the story. Jesus wants you to see his.

MULTIPLE broken ribs, is what the purely innocent Jesus suffered, under the rule of Pontius Pilate, a Roman emperor, before his final, fatal destiny on the cross.

The Roman's were well known experts at knowing just the right formula for inflicting the maximum amount of pain on their enemies, just a hair short of their lives. That's why Jesus of Nazereth received exactly 40 lashes from the lethal Cat 'O' Nine Tails, and not a lash more.

First they disrobed him, which in itself, was shameful enough. There he stood, naked before his enemies, for all to see. He could have brought them all down, with just one word, but he did not. He had you on his mind, and what his sacrificial death would mean to you, his generation, and the generations to come. He knew that by his pure, innocent blood, your sin debt would be paid. You see, in the spiritual realm, no sins can be forgiven, unless a blood sacrifice is offered. (Hebrews 9:22) Our blood was tainted with sin. His, was not. So it was He, who paid our sin debt. He...who had done no wrong. No one made Him do it. Hevolunteered.

The Cat 'O' Nine Tails was a leather whip that has many knotted lashes on it. The lashes look like tails hanging down from the handle. On the end of those nine strands were pieces of metal. As the victim was flogged, it took nothing for the bits of metal to pierce the skin and the blunt force to break the ribs. Now times that by 40 lashes, and you have multiple breaks in each rib. It also ripped open the flesh on Jesus's back, exposing muscle and organs. It literally laid open, his back. Beaten, then a crown of thorns crushed into his head, mocking him as "King of the Jews". In all this pain, He was made to carry the cross that would bring his own death...but it wasn't that easy.

Imagine falling, as Jesus did...three times....with his hands tied to the beam he carried, he landed full force on all those broken ribs, his face, and chest. He was then lead up a hill called Golgatha, where they nailed His hands and feet to two posts, then raised him to be suspended between heaven and earth, for all to see. It was not even His sin he carried in His body, as He had no sin, being the perfect sacrifice and Son of God. It was your sins and mine, that hung Him to that tree.

It was not a fast death, by any means. The lashing Jesus suffered, and the broken ribs, caused blood to settle in his lungs, making it extremely difficult to breathe. So in order to even catch a breath of air, he had to brace himself on the nails that pierced his feet, and push his body up. According to Mark, one of Jesus's disciples, he endured the torment of crucifixion for some six hours from the third hour, at approximately 9 am, until his death at the 9th hour, corresponding to about 3 pm.

Jesus not only said He loves us... He proved it. And even though it was our sins that put him on the cross, he still called us his friends. Could you do that, if someone treated you this way? Near the end of his death, he looked up to His Father in heaven, and said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not, what they do!" His very last words were, "Father, into thine hands, I commend myself. It is finished!" Then he hung his head, and died...His mission to pay for our sins, accomplished. He is rightly and justly, our Mediator between God and man. Our free ticket to heaven. Free for us, but it cost Him, his life. If we want to accept his sacrifice as payment for our sins, we have but to tell him, and ask for his forgiveness of our sins. He turns no one away.

I have an interesting question about Jesus's crucifixion, so the whole point of God sending him down to earth was to serve as the ultimate sacrifice for mankind. So that if we believe that he died on the cross for our sins, ask the holy spirit into our hearts, and live life sin free following God's law we'll be saved and go to heaven when the final judgement comes. Now in the bible it says that Judas was the one who turned Jesus into the Romans who actually tried and crucified Jesus. All throughout history Judas has been known as a traitor because of this, but in reality wasn't all he was doing was helping Jesus fulfill his destiny? Or was Jesus supposed to keep on teaching people about God for a longer period of time and eventually turn himself in or something. I know the Bible says that Judas received money for turning in Jesus, but that he gave it back after he "betrayed" Christ if I remember correctly.

@LadyGrace you're welcome! I totally understand!
@Sweetguy024 As promised. 😊

Jesus volunteered to pay for our sins. God the Father appointed and approved only Jesus to be the Savior of the world and the only Mediator between God and man. 1 Timothy 2:5 This was because it took a perfect, sinless sacrifice in order to be acceptable to God the Father. We couldn't pay for our own sins, because of the sinful nature in us, so when we want Jesus to forgive our sins, we pray directly to Him. It doesn't have to be a fancy prayer. Just from your heart. You can pray and invite Jesus to come into your heart and life, as your personal Savior, and forgive your sins. We don't go by feelings for this process. Our performance has nothing to do with salvation because it is not us saving ourselves, it is God saving us and keeping his promise to us that he will save us. So we are not resting in anything we do, but we are resting in the promises of God and he never breaks a promise. We can know that he is totally trustworthy to erase our sins completely and secure our salvation.

Jesus stands before God Almighty, on your behalf, and tells him that you have asked him to forgive you of your sins. Father God then declares you cleansed and forgiven forevermore. You are then seen as righteousness when God the Father looks at you, because of what Jesus did for you on the cross. Immediately after that, God sends his Holy Spirit to live in you forever, to teach you and guide you in your life. You are also restored back into fellowship and right standing with your Father in Heaven and you have the promise of eternal life in heaven with God and the angels.

Immediately after you are saved, God's Word says all the angels in heaven sing and rejoice because you accepted Jesus as your Savior. The whole of heaven, legions of angels rejoice and sing praises to God. And your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life. You are a citizen of Heaven now forever. That is why it is called "eternal" life, and don't let anyone tell you any different. That eternal life starts the moment you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. That's the way God's grace works. God does not go back on His Word.

This does not mean we will live sin free. We are not perfect like Jesus. As long as we are in this body we will sin but when we do, we will want as Jesus to forgive us. We won't want to repeat that again. But as long as we are living in this flesh, yes, we are saved, but we will still sin until we go to heaven and get our new body. The Holy Spirit inside of us, does transform us into a new creation in Jesus, but you know we will always learn while we are here on Earth lessons by trial and error. That's just the way we learn and grow in Christ. It's just that we won't find joy in going around sinning after we're saved. The most important thing I want you to know, is that you do not keep your salvation, God does! So that doesn't mean you have to go around thinking you have to be perfect or be super good or do Good Deeds in order to keep your salvation. You can't earn or keep your salvation by yourself, but God can and does keep your salvation and he always keeps his promises.

Further, God's Word says that Believers will not go through the judgment that is the same as unbelievers. Jesus already paid the price for our sins on the cross and he erased them. He is not going to judge us by our sins a second time. It's just not going to happen and the Bible confirms that. We can't be judged for the sins that Jesus already erased! Our judgment will be the kind that will only examine the things we did for Christ while we were Christians and our motive for them. In other words, did we do it from our heart or just to be praised? Things like that but we will not be giving an account of our sins since Jesus blotted them out with his blood. This type judgement has NOTHING to do with being "good" or "bad". When we were saved, God the Father, declared us "Not guilty!" when he erased our sins. So we're not even discussing that at the judgment.

When Judas betrayed Jesus, he certainly was not helping him fulfill prophecy. Judas knew nothing about that and he had not planned to betrayed Jesus but he did. And he was so sorrowful, he went out and hanged himself to death. But as a RESULT of Jesus being betrayed, prophecy was fulfilled. Jesus was not running away from his responsibility or his mission in life to save us, but volunteered to pay for our sins. Jesus didn't turn himself in. He already knew they were coming for him and that's why he went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray before he knew he would be put to death. He prayed for the strength to get through it and scripture says that he was so burdened that he sweat drops of blood. What he did was so hard it's unimaginable.

And then after they beat and tortured him, they made him Carry the Cross up to Calvary where they would nail him to the cross and suspend his body between Heaven and Earth until he died. Then they put him in the grave and rolled a stone that weighed about 2 tons so that no one could steal his body and say that he arose. People didn't want to recognize him as Savior. Some did but not all. But the Kings back then felt threatened that he might take over their throne, and so they had him put to death. They didn't realize that Jesus being the son of God, that his Father in Heaven would raise him from the dead and resurrect him to life. God was showing us what happens to us after we die if we belong to the Lord. And over 500 people watched that day as Jesus ascended into the heavens, because his mission was finished, and went to sit at the right hand of His Father. Where he acts as Mediator between God and man to this day and beyond.

Yes. According to Chapter 27 of Matthew's gospel, Judas was filled with remorse and return the money to the chief priests before hanging himself. The chief priests decided that they could not put it into the temple treasury as it was considered blood money, and so with it, they bought land.

This is strictly my own opinion, but as you mentioned, everyone was so down on Judas, but look where that Bible says that Judas was so remorsed that he hung himself. To me if someone is that grief stricken, I would have thought that Judas before he hung himself, cried out to God for forgiveness. That just makes sense to me but then like I said we don't know because the Bible doesn't say. I sure hope he did.

@LadyGrace thank you for your answers. The whole thing is confusing to me to be honest. I believe in Christ because that's how I was raised and believing that he died for my sins and that I will go to heaven if I believe that and ask him into my heart makes me feel better about life in general. I just have thoughts and feelings that are different from others. Like I don't believe everything in the bible. I doubt the world is only 6000 years old and that all humans used to only speak one language in the beginning times before the tower of babel happened. I feel a lot in the bible was added by man or is fables/myths. There is a lot of truth in it but the fact is it was written by many different people over a long period. So I highly doubt it's 100 percent accurate, although there's probably more fact than fiction. It makes sense to me that we don't know everything, cause why would God show/tell us everything? He is mysterious I've been told. Like I don't believe in the concept of hell, it's hard to imagine that most people living on earth are destined to be tortured for all eternity only because they didn't accept Christ/believe he was the son of god sent to save mankind.
@Sweetguy024 Thanks. I'm always interested in what people think and why, so I appreciate your reply.

I ask you to take a look at the following. I think it explains things a lot better and some scripture and history, some are not aware of.
