Anyone watch the Jesus Revolution?
I haven't but it was mentioned in Church yesterday and one who had seen it waxed enthusiastic about how it was such a great movie about the Jesus People of the late 60 early 70s and how it was such a powerful movement. I lived through that era and to be honest if that is what the movie says it is gilding the lily more than a little. The Jesus People of the 1970s had almost no impact on the greater society. It was a movement of feeling and emotion with little or no social conscience involved. Were some people converted to Christianity? Absolutely but when compared to the Great Awakenings in the Americas or the Welsh Revival or the Protestant Reformation the Jesus People movement was a dud.
