I really appreciate the heart behind this. God's grace is truly greater than our sin, and Scripture absolutely gives hope to the repentant sinner. We should run toward Christ rather than away from Him when we fall.
That said, I think there are a few places where we should be careful not to say more than Scripture says.

First, Scripture teaches that all sin makes us guilty before God and that every one of us needs the cross. But I don't think Scripture teaches that every sin is identical in seriousness or consequence. Jesus Himself spoke of “greater sin” (John 19:11), so saying that God doesn't “categorize” sin seems too absolute.

Second, I would be careful with the statement that every individual sin temporarily separates a Christian from God until that particular sin is confessed. Sin certainly damages fellowship with God and needs to be dealt with, but 1 John 1:7 says that “the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin” as we walk in the light. Our relationship with God rests ultimately on Christ's finished work, not on our ability to remember and confess every individual failure perfectly.

Third, Hebrews 8:12 saying that God will “remember their sins no more” doesn't mean God literally forgets that they happened. It means that He no longer holds forgiven sin against His people. God's forgiveness is not divine amnesia; it is divine mercy.

I'd also be cautious about saying that a particular sin necessarily means we've lost a particular heavenly reward. 1 Corinthians 3:15 does speak about suffering loss while still being saved, but the immediate context concerns the testing of a person's work. The passage doesn't give us a formula by which we can say, “I committed this sin, therefore I lost this reward.”

And perhaps most importantly, we shouldn't automatically label all painful guilt after sin as Satan's accusation. There is such a thing as false condemnation, but Scripture also speaks of godly sorrow that produces repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). Conviction can actually be God's mercy because it brings us back to Him.

So I completely agree with the central encouragement: don't run from Jesus when you sin. Run to Him. But I think grace should make us neither presumptuous nor despairing. Grace doesn't mean sin doesn't matter. It means that when we truly repent, we don't have to hide from the One who already knows our sin and offers mercy through Christ.

Hebrews 10 itself holds both truths together: it gives a serious warning about deliberate, persistent rebellion, while the surrounding passage calls believers to draw near to God with confidence because of Christ's sacrifice.

The gospel isn't “You sinned, so you're finished.”

Nor is it “You sinned, but it doesn't really matter because grace covers it.”

It is: Christ has paid for sin, therefore repent, receive His mercy, and keep following Him.

That's a much bigger picture of grace.

@LadyGrace Amen, sister ❤. Do we have broader and narrower uses of the word “Satan”? If so, perhaps you can write a post about that. 😊
And I’ll even give you a title: “Who Do We Mean When We Say ‘Satan’?” Of course, feel free to choose a better one!
@Explorer Thank you dear brother. I'll see how or if God leads me on that. But I think that's a good subject. God bless you.

@DanielsASJ oh I praise God so much for his grace and mercy. They are new every morning, praise God! God's love is so very healing. I pray that many people listen to this song about God's great love, heart, and forgiveness. Thank you so much for sharing this song. I hope you will share that with brother Steve.

Thank you so much Grace for This excellent post of HOPE in Our Lord. He truly forgives those who love him and believe in him.
Satan can try anything to condemn us. He could make Peter cry when he refused The Lord. Who are we. That is the reason Paul tells us to put ARMOUR OF GOD always on. God understand that we are human and he lived life amongst us as human. He understands us like nobody else can. Not parents, not friends, not anyone. He is the greatest comforter. He forgives us.

Glories to The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit
@DanielsASJ Amen!! Beautifully stated and so true. I wouldn't be where I am today without God's forgiveness and love. I can never thank him enough. And I'm thankful that he saved your soul as well. I'm thankful that he turns no one away

Good Morning Grace
@DanielsASJ Good good evening, Daniel.
These are serious question, not a criticism: are you a preacher? Or just a devout Christian?

What's your denomination/church?

I'm not, and am not interested in Christianity, I have my own faith.

I was just curious...
@Egg01 Certainly. Thank you for asking. I am a devout follower of Christ. That's the definition of Christian. A follower of Christ. Simply that. In my humble opinion, the nomination one chooses to attend or "religion", really has nothing to do with salvation. Salvation has nothing to do with our performance or where we attend. Religion did not die on the cross to save me from my sins. The person of Jesus did.

Nobody in my family ever read the Bible. So I presume they’re in hell.

So I suppose there’s no incentive for me to achieve access to heaven.
Iwillwait · M
@AdmiralPrune Of course there is incentive, that is reaching for Jesus who has already paid for our sins. Jesus loves you so much he laid His Life down for you and I to pay the for the debt of our sins.
@AdmiralPrune

AdmiralPrune, I hear the pain in your words and I’m so sorry for the loss in your family. ♥

Friend, I know what it feels like to think you’re too far gone. That's exactly what the devil wants us to think so we will not allow God to save our soul. He wants us with him, not in heaven. Don’t let the devil win this one. God wants to turn your grief into a testimony.

I understand why you feel hopeless. But I need to tell you 3 things that are true:

1. We don’t know anyone’s final moment with God...but God does.
The Bible says in Luke 23 that a man on a cross, in his last minutes, cried out to Jesus and Jesus said "Today you will be with me in paradise."

God speaks to hearts right up to the very last breath. We cannot assume. Your family may have asked God privately before they passed, to save their soul and to forgive them of their sins. Only God and them, know that. Leave that in His hands, please. God's not worried about fancy prayers. He only asks that we pray to him from our heart and we don't know that your family didn't do that. That's not up to us to judge. I do know one thing. I do know your family would want you to invite Jesus into your heart and life as your personal Savior, while you are still alive and have that opportunity. I pray that you will think about that and pray about it. That's totally up to you and strictly between you and God. But I pray you will invite Jesus into your heart and life. He turns no one away.

2. Reading the Bible doesn’t save us. Jesus does.
It’s not about checking boxes. It’s about a relationship.

Romans 10:9 — "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." That’s it. One honest prayer. The prayer of repentance for our sins, which we almost think about and consider, is what gets us forgiveness, as we come to the Lord honestly.

3. Your soul matters too much to give up on.
What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his own soul? Mark 8:36

God is inviting you today. Not because of your family. Because He loves YOU. It’s not too late. It’s never too late while you have breath.

I’m praying for you right now. Don't you give up now. God is not done with you.

@Iwillwait Amen.
I STARTED READING THIS AS A SINNER.

BY PARAGRAPH 47 I HAD AGED, REPENTED, DIED, BEEN RESURRECTED AND LOST INTEREST AGAIN.

EVEN SATAN SCROLLED PAST.

UNTIL NEXT TIME, YOU BIBLICAL TOLKIEN!
@LadyGrace LADYGRACE…

I MADE ONE JOKE AND RECEIVED A COMPLIMENT, A SERMON, A BIBLE VERSE AND A CONCERN FOR MY ETERNAL SOUL.

YOU ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO OFFEND.

SKELETOR RESPECTS THIS LEVEL OF POWER.

UNTIL NEXT TIME, YOU DELIGHTFULLY UNDEFEATED BIBLICAL TOLKIEN!

NYEH HEH HEH!
@skeletor Now that's funny, right there. 😆😂 I am dying laughing. Yeah well I probably deserved that. I may have laid it on just a tad too thick, hahaha but that only tells you that I love you friend. You cannot offend me.😂
