I am that I am. Ehyeh Asher ehyeh. Are you kidding? There is no bigger ego in the universe.

@MoveAlong “I am” is a statement of being, not an egoistic claim. Jesus called god the father, and he said that if we want to know the character of god that we need only to look to Jesus himself and see his works and his character.

@Vengabus Jesus taught humility above all things, that to serve others was compassionate and good…

You make a good point, however I don't believe everyone tries to please God. But you're right that some do and try to earn their way to heaven, but that's not possible. God loves us just as we are. We don't have to earn his love. He already loves and accepts us for who we are, although he doesn't care for some of the things we do. This is when we must repent, so we can enjoy the fellowship with him once again.
Just the opposite. It's not all about us. It's giving God the glory. It's all about him. If it's all about us, then it's our ego getting in the way, if we make it that way. We were put here for the purpose of serving our Lord and he's the only one that deserves our love for what he did for us on the cross. We are here to bring, and give Him glory, not ourselves.

@LadyGrace I think once you recognise that god's love is for you, it's no longer about ego at that point
@Vengabus
Yes, God's love is for everyone. I don't know why you're tying ego into that.
