I don't believe in god, but...people who are christians say they have a just god....

Sometimes you have to choose between kind and just....apparently that "god" felt being just was more important than showing kindness toward people. Kind of a bad god, huh?

To christians their God itself is the metric system therefore according to their logic God cannot be unjust because he said he is just.

Perfect circular reasoning accompanied by a moral framework that does way more harm than good.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Gloomy it's not circular reasoning, we don't believe that God is just because God says he is just 🤣 we think God is just from what he does and promises us. When he says he is something then he is right because he is true to his words. That's something you cant expect from a human being, so i understand your confusion.

@MartinTheFirst and we think he's loving because he lets people live in agony.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@originnone you're just being argumentative 😐 lets be a bit more productive than trollish
Gloomy · F
@MartinTheFirst if people had never written the Bible your faith wouldn't even exist and since there are no updates of the book so much is derived from one old text.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Gloomy well yeah thats true but if it hadnt been written then it would be written someday according to our faith. And I dont see how age is of importance to an eternal God, it just speaks higher of the texts ability to stay relevant.

@MartinTheFirst if you don't like what I'm saying, you can ignore or block me rather than calling me names, you wonderful christian.

@MartinTheFirst If the Bible hadn't been written it would be written one day according to your faith?
That doesn't make sense.

Your faith comes from the Bible. If the Bible hadn't been written then how would you have faith to write one someday? Isn't the Bible a record of events that supposedly happened in the beginning? If it had never been written how would you know of the events described in it, so it could be written at a later date?
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Richard65 im not saying that the bible would be written because i had faith, im saying that i have faith that it would have been written if it hadnt already been... Get it?
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Richard65 Then the stories would be different, with different people, but conveying the same message.
Gloomy · F
@MartinTheFirst but if it had never been written in the first place you wouldn't even have any expectations of a certain book of faith. For this hypothetical you need to take out the religious faith and knowledge you possess today.
Gloomy · F
@MartinTheFirst the Bible reflects societal customs and morals of the time it was written so unlikely
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Gloomy perhaps people had better morals in the past and we have become worse and worse as we strive deeper into sin?
Richard65 · M
@MartinTheFirst that still makes zero sense. But even if it's true, then that puts the lie to the common Christian claim that our morality and sense of right and goodness comes from our exposure to the Bible and the Ten Commandments, because you're saying you'd already have those traits inherent in you, even if the Bible hadn't been written thousands of years ago.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Gloomy my faith in it wouldnt be required for it to be written with gods help 😭lets just drop this hypothetical 😭 lol
Gloomy · F
@MartinTheFirst Beating kids? Killing women who aren't virgins? Burning intelligent women? Discriminating against people who love or live differently? ....
Awesome morals really and most of them are due to a lack of knowledge on human psychology and sociology as well as a lack of understanding of the world in general.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Richard65 well thats not what christians say. Christians say that the bible is a tool we can use to know what is right for us. But we already know right from wrong in a sense naturally, just not as well as if you practice it.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Gloomy it doesnt say to do those things lol?
Gloomy · F
@MartinTheFirst no but you having faith in it being written necessitates prior knowledge of christianity that wouldn't exist
Gloomy · F
@MartinTheFirst all this shit is in the Bible and christian morality is rotten to the core
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Gloomy well thats a lie and the rest is just mean
Gloomy · F
@MartinTheFirst You are a jehovas wittness so you are not the best at pointing out lies
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Gloomy Jehovah's witness*
Gloomy · F
@MartinTheFirst alright then i'll just call it a christian cult easier to write
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Gloomy if you dont know how to spell it in the first place then I doubt you know much more about our faith lmao
