Aggressive Evangelists

The christian evangelists have been busy harrassing people in town recently. Don't they realize their aggressive approach, insulting everyone who isn't their specific brand of christian, drives people away from christianity? Or it that their intention?

And you use a Christian cross with a red strike through it as your avatar... Why do you use such an aggressive symbol of bigotry as your avatar and then turn around and complain about aggressive evangelists? Tell me did they grab you in the street and beat you up? Did they hit you with sticks? Did they throw stones at you? Where they really aggressive or are you just projecting..

@Adstar My avatar is a reaction to the scourge of christianity. I've been harrassed by christians trying to force their views onto me when all I've wanted to do was get to where I was going. I don't appreciate them calling at my home either, I like to keep it a christian free zone. FYI, I have been physically assaulted by christians.

@rob19 I like your avatar. Carry on, sir.

@rob19 Your avitar makes you a hypocrite... You are the very type of person you project onto Christians..
rob19 · M
@Adstar I react to christian aggressiveness. As others have said, I'm doing to them what they've implicitly requested I do - namely treat them with the same contempt they treat others. Remember the doctrine of "do unto others as you want them to do unto you"?

@rob19 That's why Jesus told us to love our enemies.. When people follow your policy they end up living in places like the former states of Yugoslavia.. Where people who's grand dad was killed by the other ethnics will get revenge by killing one of their grandsons and they have a blood bath ever other generation and keep washing and repeating and washing and repeating the same old same old destroying their nations chances of ever having long term stability.. If they could only forgive and forget and put the cycle of revenge to an end then they could have peace of mind and hope for their children's future..

Pity not many christians heed that advice, I have never been harrassed in the street or on my doorstep by members of any other religion, only by christians.
@Adstar You have to admit that at least some Christians are very aggressive in how they sell their religion. As a fellow Christian, do you call them out for this behavior?
Adstar · 56-60, M
@LeopoldBloom I don't know if i have ever seen a Christian resorting to physical violence while sharing the gospel on the streets.. Or anywhere for that matter.. So what is this aggression you are talking about??
If i see someone being violent when sharing the Gospel i will without a doubt call them out on that behavior..
rob19 · M
@Adstar Being physically prevented from going about one's business is a form of violence.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@rob19 No.. actual physical violence is violence...
rob19 · M
@Adstar In UK law the slightest touch is a battery. Therefore, in UK law, unlawfully physically preventing someone going about their lawful business is a violent act. I've experienced actual violence (punching and kicking) at the hands (and feet) of christians too.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@rob19 I don't care what UK law says.. I care what violence Actually is.. Not some leftist Woke political defintion pushed into the law courts of the UK by actavists..

And again Christianity teaches one to love even their enemies and turn the cheek.. So even if the ones that punched and kicked you climed to be Christian.. Their very act of punching and beating you was an act of rebellion against the teachings of Jesus..

@Adstar
I don't care what UK law says.
You're definitely a true christian. 👍 The law was framed like that well before the terms "leftist" and "woke" were even thought of. Unlawfully physically preventing someone going about their lawful business is a violent act and could result in a custodial sentence. You're just trying to excuse violent christians. I bet your attitude would soon change if members of another religion or Atheists used the same tactics against christians.
So even if the ones that punched and kicked you climed to be Christian.. Their very act of punching and beating you was an act of rebellion against the teachings of Jesus..
Of course "No true Scotsman...". 🤣😀🤣😀
Adstar · 56-60, M
@rob19 I have never excused violence from Christians because Christians who believe Jesus do their best to avoid committing violence upon others..

And there is nothing wrong with defining Christianity by the teachings of Christianity... The religion stands by itself apart from humans who to one degree or another claim it as their guiding light.. So your silly laughing emotions are a waste of time.. There are definitly true and false Christians walking on earth and the only way to define the true from the false is by using the Holy Bible as a measuring tool to expose the false and affirm the true..
rob19 · M
@Adstar
because Christians who believe Jesus do their best to avoid committing violence upon others..
Yet Jesus himself is said to have used violence - John 2:13-22
Adstar · 56-60, M
@rob19 That still does not change the fact that Jesus told His followers to avoid taking part in violence... Followers of Jesus believe what He said..
rob19 · M
@Adstar Ah, the old hypocritical "do as I say, not as I do.".
Adstar · 56-60, M
@rob19 The Laws of God where designed for human beings not for a God... We need laws we need guidance because we are limited, we are faulty.. God is unlimited. He is perfect..
rob19 · M
@Adstar
The Laws of God where designed for human beings
Typical christian arrogance. First you need to present some evidence that this god thing even exists.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@rob19 No i just need to share Gods message.. God does not require me to prove his existence to anyone..
@Adstar Then you've failed because you haven't shared God's message. You just think you have. In fact, you've done the opposite.
rob19 · M
@Adstar
No i just need to share Gods message..
No you don't, that just christian hubris. If you believe you do, you're just a slave. All you're doing anyway is spreading misinformation and your opinions.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@rob19 I share the Gospel not to earn salvation.. I already have salvation.. I do it because i want to see my fellow human beings saved and i want to do what my LORD Jesus wants me to do..

No slavery No servatude, But Love..
rob19 · M
@Adstar
I share the Gospel
As I said, you're spreading misinformation and opinion. Doesn't it ever occur to you evangelistic christians that a lot of us are sick of having your beliefs rammed down our throats?
Adstar · 56-60, M
@rob19 No one is ramming anything down your throat... You are willingly posting on the topic of christianity and willingly engaging in multiple replies to a Christians... No compulsion.. Prue free will beiong engaged in here by You..
