Future events. Jesus hasn't returned yet

@Musicman So you don't believe in Pentecost?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@hippyjoe1955 Pentecost happened. So what connection are you trying to make?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Musicman The Holy Spirit is also known as the Christ (Anointing) The events in Revelation cover the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD. We are now living in the Millennial Reign of Christ. Millenia does not mean a thousand years it means a long time. Thus Jesus could be very explicit about the end of the Levitical Priesthood (Jews/Israel/etc) but have know knowledge about when the end of the world will be. The world will exist so long as God the Father Wills it to exist. However this generation shall not pass away 37 years after Jesus resurrection... 40 years being a generation.

@hippyjoe1955 We definitely don't see eye to eye on this. So how do you account for when Jesus returns he will come on a cloud and everyone will see him?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Musicman Yes I know that. Dispensationalism (pessimism) is a heresy that many in the US subscribe to. I don't. I agree with Augustine. The world is not getting better (Post Tribulation nor is it getting worse Pre Tribulation. It simply is as God would have it. Its purpose is not ours to discern although we are given a hint that God is using it to teach those in heavenly realms the manifold wisdom of God.

@hippyjoe1955 We have some common ground. Just not complete. How do you understand Mathew 24:36-42?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Musicman That is Jesus talking about the end of the world. He doesn't know when because only the Father does. That is not the rapture. That is simply that God's chosen will be with God and the others won't.

@hippyjoe1955 He says in the end people will dream dreams. As for the rapture. 🤷‍♂️ I don't believe man knows when that will be. As for an exact date I personally don't think that is possible.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Musicman Yes people dream dreams which in itself is indicative of nothing in particular. The fact is that we are living in the millennial reign of Christ now. How then shall we live if not by the Spirit. As St Paul wrote "For no longer I but Christ that dwells within me".
