Why do Christians conflate these two characters?

Satan and the serpent from Genesis. They are clearly different characters. Why do so many Christians conflate the two?

The Bible clearly states that the serpent in genesis is a wild animal. The serpent was also cursed to go onto its belly, forever. The dragon in revelation is said to be standing. They can’t be the same character unless you ignore this contradiction.
I’m curious, do you believe that “ha Satan” from the book of Job is also the same character?

You're speaking of two different accounts here. Satan came to Adam and Eve in the form of a serpent and spoke to them, you'll notice.

Later, since man sinned against God, God told him he would have to find his food and work for his food from the land. And yes the serpent was cursed to crawl on the ground, on his belly.

On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat. All the days of your life. Every time you see a snake slithering and crawling around, it isa sign of the humiliation of Satan. It is a reminder of the divine judgment on him for temptingAdam and Eveinto sin.

Satan can come in many forms. He can come even as an angel of Light the Bible says. There's no contradiction. The dragon in Revelation is Satan. Also in the following account:

Andthe great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Rev. 12:9
