Why do Christians conflate these two characters?

Satan and the serpent from Genesis. They are clearly different characters. Why do so many Christians conflate the two?

Definition of beast __ 2) a contemptible person.
Cattle __ the actual Hebrew word means beast or animal.
Humans _ humans even today are considered as animals, descendants from a form of primate - in the mammal category.

The devil and 1/3 of the Angels had already been cast down from heaven to Earth and God had no respect for him. He was *as* a serpent and as such crawling on his belly means he is lower than low - as low as he can become. Using the terms beast and cattle simply means he is *as* an animal - a long way for him to fall from grace, from the status he had as cherubim that covereth - wise and access to all that God had created.

Why is it that people think that ancient Hebrews should be spoken in the correct English language.
Why is it that people think that ancient Hebrews should have been written perfectly by today's standards _ when a tiny fraction of the Hebrew people were just beginning to learn the craft of writing and reading. _____ That was thousands of years ago, *only a few hundred years ago most people in the world still didn't know how to read and write.* _____ it wasn't until institutions such as schools began to be mandatory for people, that the art of reading and writing became learned.
The ancient Hebrews didn't have a college education like people of today who feel their writing and wording should be done accurately correct.
