Tradition! And why do they so often paint/draw the Serpent as a snake in a fruit tree tempting Eve when it wasn't turned into a snake until AFTER Eve had taken the fruit, given it to Adam, and the god of Eden discovered what had happened?
@ChipmunkErnie
Better read the Bible. That's not what it says at all.

@LadyGrace It says the serpent is cursed to go on his belly and eat dust AFTER Eve tastes of the fruit, as punishment for enticing her. There is no explanation of just what form the serpent takes in the beginning that I can find. So the question is, was the being originally a snake or did he become a snake. All depends on how you read it.

@ChipmunkErnie I never said one word about the serpent being cursed to go on its belly after Eve tasted the fruit so why are you mentioning that?
Sorry, but that is not what the Bible says in Chapter 3, verse 1 of Genesis. The serpent CAME to Eve, tempting her to eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Genesis 3:1-7
3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which theLordGod had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves clothes.

The Bible said it, not you. And frankly I don't care what some mythical book said about an unidentified "serpent" being cursed to crawling on his belly except it's vaguely intellectually interesting to see how people believe that the story has any reality at all.

I completely understand - or the fact that it even had legs to walk _ not to mention it could talk. According to science snakes did have legs at one point. Science calls it evolution / creation calls it curse

As far as talking - the parrot is a very good conversationalist, with itself - but still has an extremely good human vocabulary and certain whales and dolphins even some primates can mimic the sounds human make.
