Don’t see the connection, but that’s mythology. The casting out of Hagar the slave happened three chapters later. In between Abraham told some king that Sarah was his sister. (Really she was a half sister)

There are also conflicting verses whether Ishmael was an infant needing to be carried or a young man.
@BlueSkyKing It's solely about the mentioning of "a little water" in the Bible, and how it fits God's primary commandments according to Christ: Honour God (don't mock what's been told by Him or his representatives) and ones neighbour or the other (represented in Hagar and child), and guide your decisions according to what's written in the Bible (which will make the difference in one position in the afterlife).

I hope that I don't need to explain the difference between commandments and guidelines hereafter.
