Bible Translations

Over the years I have read various translations of the Bible for my personal devotions.

This year I am using the NET Bible (New English Translation). This translation is somewhere between a formal equivalence (Word for Word) and a dynamic equivalence (Thought for Thought). The translation team made the translation notes readily available for anyone through their website: https://netbible.org.

What Bible translations do you use for your devotions or studies?

The Geneva Bible is the predecessor to the King James Version, as I am sure you know.

I like reading it on occasion because the odd English and spelling that they used in the 16th Century is Extraordinary and a good break from the mundane of some bible reading ...just saying :)

I am not a Bible Scholar like Ms OTH is, but It is the same ones as far as I know.

@laurieluvsit I've read KJV, but never the Geneva Bible, which I am aware. The Separatists (Pilgrims) used this translation.
