Can the bible stories be believed as factual and not symbolic ? For instance the Adam and eve story ?

@krass If you are inclined, read the real Ten Commandments in Exodus chapter 34.
The miracles are based on Exodus 34:10. The Ten Commandments are Exodus 34:11-26 and summarized in Exodus 34:27-29 = https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=exodus+34%3A11-30&version=NKJV.

Then, when you read any story you should be able to explain which commandment it is about and if it shows obedience or disobedience.

@Diotrephes Thank you but I'm not really interested in the stories of the bible. I was just wondering if they were symbolic rather than literal

@krass There are lots of stories with just oe or two characters. So, who was there recording word-for-word what happened? The stories are just fairytales that are designed to illustrate one or more of the real Ten Commandments in action. That is why some of the stories don't make logical sense. That is not their real purpose. They just illustrate ideas.

@Diotrephes I believe in the bible , but I read it as symbolic and metaphorical

@krass The more secular books, like Proverbs, Ecclesiates, Wisdom, and most of Sirach, do contain some timeless advice that is applicable to everyone. But just about all of the rest of it is just pure BS without any real value of any kind.

@Diotrephes I refuse to read anything derogatory about the bible for the sake of respect

Why do you believe in the Bible? Is it because you like the words "Bible" and "God" and because it is written on flimsy paper? Most of it is no more credible than any of the other fables the English wrote, such as Robin Hood. As I said before, some of the more secular books do contain timeless advice but most of it as a whole is pure BS that you can easily verify yourself. And be sure to let us know when zombies come knocking on your door for a chatfest and dinner with you. I would love to see a video of you commanding a tree to uproot itself and to jump into the nearest body of water without any help as the Jesus character said that anyone with faith can easily do. Oh, but neither he nor any of his apostles ever did that display of faith so I doubt if you will be able to do it. No one who has ever claimed to have faith has ever been able to do it so, the Jesus character must have been a liar or no one, including himself, has ever had any real faith.

@Diotrephes I think the bible holds the words of God, and the new testament is the true words of Jesus. When I read the Gospels I believe that the word of Jesus. My faith is all the proof I need. Since then I have read further with the lost gospels, Gospel of Thomas, Judas etc. No amount of debate can persuade me other wise. However the new testament seem to be more metaphorical so that's how I see them
