Bible study.

There are times I get so excited over here. You se, I have had this passion for about 4 decades now, to learn biblical greek. "Why?" You might ask. The answer is simple. Since the 1611 KJV was printed, every succeeding version has been interpreted by a varying number of editors, with varying viewpoints on how to interpret the original greek. In addition, each version of the bible that is on the market today has a different reading level. Also, the original greek language was not intended to be read fast. This requires the reader to slow down and really ponder the true meaning of the words being used.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Greek word for quick means “alive, living, lively.” The Greek word for powerful means “full of energy, energized, active, effective.”

With that in mind, my belief is that no matter what Bible you read or in what language or what the messages were for the first people that were reading it, God will use his word it to communicate personally with the people of today.

I never read my Bible without praying and asking God what he wants to show me because it's not about the words on the page or what even they originally meant to the first Christians and Jews, it's about what God wants to say to you and what God wants for you and your life today. Without a personal connection with God, we would find the words meaningless.
