Satan's main agenda is to turn people against God and His Word.

[c=804600]First, I will say that the Bible is a good historical document, and so much more. But I want to say that God left us His Word to future generations, so that we would not have to guess how to have salvation.

The Bible is the most wonderful book in the world. It not only tells us past history, but also tells us what's going to happen in the future and no other book can do that with 100% accuracy. All of God's prophecies, to date, have all come to pass. And all of his future prophecies shall do the same. It is a 100% reliable work of the Holy Spirit. Not man, and that's why we can rely on it. It is 100% trustworthy. I'll explain that in a minute.

I guess that's why the Smithsonian Department of Anthropology said this about the Bible (referring to history).

"Much of the Bible, in particular the historical books of the old testament, are as accurate historical documents as any that we have and are, in fact, more accurate than many of the Egyptian, Mesopotamian, or Greek histories. These Biblical records are used, as are other ancient documents in archeological work. For the most part, historical events described, took place, and the peoples cited, really existed."

The only part I don't agree with what the Smithsonian said about being as accurate as any, is because there's no book that can compare to God's Own Word, because it is 100% accurate. It is man that messes up the meaning and twists things around and makes people believe it's not accurate but has contradictions and such and that is just not true. A perfect God such as the Lord God Almighty, who is perfect in every way and cannot sin, does not sin, never sins, and is no liar, did not hand us down His own Word, with flaws, errors, or contradictions. That is what some people say and that is a devil's lie. False teachers are those who presume to teach in their own authority (as did the scribes), often in the Name of the Lord, when He has not sent them. Some may even have knowledge of Biblical truths, yet still are teaching false Doctrine made up according to them, not the Bible.

There is no error in God's Word. The law of the Lord is perfect concerning our soul. The testimony of the Lord is not only infallible, it is inerrant. Proverbs 30:5-6, "Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar."

Whole books of the Bible are devoted to countering false teaching in the early church (2 Peter and Jude). “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1). The test for any teaching is whether or not it aligns with the teaching of Jesus in His Word, and the apostles.

God did not and entrust the writing of his word to just anyone. The prophets did not write their own opinions, but rather, wrote God’s very words. “For the prophecy came NOT in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God, wrote as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (2 Peter 1:21)

In 2 Timothy 3:16, Paul stated that all scripture is literally "God breathed" and is useful for teaching us, rebuking those who teach false doctrine, correcting, and training in righteousness. This is the only use in the Bible of the Greek word "theopneustos", which means "God breathed", inspired by God, due to the inspiration of God, and other scriptural passages support scripture as being inspired by God. Here we see the truths of scripture described as coming directly from god, not from the will of the writers he used to record them. These were holy men of old, prophets of God. Paul confirms that scripture comes from the Holy Spirit, who "gave it to us in words taught by the spirit, expressing spiritual truths and spiritual words." 1st Corinthians 2:13

We don't change God's message -- His message changes us. If God's grace depends on our cooperation, then it is no longer grace. And as long as man thinks he can save himself, he remains lost. Take Jesus Out of God's Plan of Salvation, and It Leaves It Null and Void. Salvation is not a matter of adopting religious rituals, but rather of God saving people of every race, through faith in Christ alone.

There are other words in the bible that SEEM to say something they're not, and therefore appear contradictory. However, to be fair, when we are studying scripture, it is important to consider the entire chaper and context in which it was written, as well as the place, time period, customs, whom the words were addressed to, and why. Only then, can we rightly learn the Word and accurately depict it's true meaning. What one word may mean in one text, may mean something altogether different, in another.

The Bible stands just as strong today as it did thousands of years ago. None can disprove its authority and its words of perfect wisdom are unmatched. There is no error in God's Word. The law of the Lord is perfect concerning our soul. The testimony of the Lord is not only infallible, it is inerrant. Proverbs 30:5-6, "Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar."[/c]
