What gender is god?

What does the Bible say?

“Did I conceive all this people? Did I give them birth, that you should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing child,’ to the land that you swore to give their fathers?”
– Numbers 11:12, English Standard Version

“You were unmindful of the Rock that bore you, and you forgot the God who gave you birth.”
– Deuteronomy 32:18, English Standard Version

“I have kept silent from ages past; I have been quiet and restrained myself. But now, I will groan like a woman in labor,
gasping breathlessly.”
-- Isaiah 42:14 Christian Standard Bible

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you.”
-- Isaiah 49:15 Christian Standard Bible

“As a mother comforts her son, so I will comfort you, and you will be comforted in Jerusalem.”
-- Isaiah 66:13 Christian Standard Bible

“I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.”
– Hosea 13:8 King James Version

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!”
– Matthew 23:37 King James Version

I see where you're going with that but God identifies himself as a him.

The thing is as Jesus said our Father his spirit that would make our Father neither like a human male or female.

And if our Father chose to identify as a female wouldn't Jesus have said our mother.

What of Jesus, in the flesh he was born as a male. But what is he truly like? 1 John 3:2 tells us "beloved now we are sons of God, and it doeth not appear what we shall be. But we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him, FOR WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE IS."

People for some reason mistakenly think that Christ is a still a man, he is not.

I think some people are taking this too literally and too seriously. I just thought it would be fun to find scriptures that in their present form indicate Yahweh, the god if Israel, identified as female at least part of the time. Of course, in reality, the Israelites weren't always monotheistic, and not every time "god" is mentioned in scripture does it refer to Yahweh. In some myths Asherah is his mother and in others she is his wife. Those passages make more sense if you consider them to be about Asherah, rather than Yahweh. Other passages just make more sense if there is more than one god. The story about Baalam in the Book of Numbers makes more sense if there are two gods talking to him, rather than one god who keeps changing his mind. Also consider Psalm 82:1 (KJV): "God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods."
I'm sorry, but I have lost my faith... I'm struggling with the idea that any "God" would leave their people in a world where some lives are "more valuable than others".

How could any "God" justify leaving their people suffering in a world where abuse is widely accepted and people living with abuse are forced to remain with abusers???

@HootyTheNightOwl Valid points. Not to mention the fact that so many of the abusers are found among the clergy, and their fellow clergy tend to cover for them. They protect the abuser rather than the victim.
@SparkleLeaf And that goes all the way to the Pope, too.

Married to an abuser??? Good luck getting an annulment through the Church without someone who knew you both before you married... B***h, he's from one end of the county, I'm from the other, we were only dating for 6mo before we married - how am I supposed to get that??? Turns out that we didn't even know each other, never mind common friends who knew us both.

"I talked to God, and she says, "Yo, wassup?" and she wants you to lose the gun." --Debra 2:21 Empire Records Version.

that's all I need.

Also, Genesis 1:27 says 'he made them man and woman in his image'. Forget the pronouns, that says to me god is both
