Quiet Conversations with God [Entry #2] - [Proverbs 18:10]

Proverbs 18:10 [NLT] - "The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe."
Tonight I feel this verse in a real way. The name of the Lord...not just something I say, not just something I read, but something I run to. A place I lean into when the day has been heavier than I expected. A fortress I can step inside when life feels a bit unpredictable or when my emotions are louder than my strength.
I've been thinking about how much I try to hold things together on my own. I push through things, I stay quiet about certain worries, I try to be strong even when I'm exhausted. But God keeps reminding me that I don't have to be my own shelter. His name, His presence alone is already that for me, and that honestly hits deep tonight.
Psalm 46:1 [NLT] says, "God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble."
I love that it says always ready. Not sometimes. Not when I feel worthy. Not when I've had a good day. Always, period. This means even on nights like this, when I'm sorting through my thoughts and trying to make sense of things, He's right here with open arms. There's something about ending the day with God that feels so grounding. Like no matter what happened, no matter what surprised me, disappointed me, or even stretched me, I can still run to Him and be safe. I can still breathe. I can still rest knowing that He sees everything and hears my heart.
So tonight, I'm choosing to step into that fortress. I'm giving Him the things I tried to carry alone. I'm letting His strength cover the places where mine ran thin. I'm trusting that His protection isn't just around me; it's within me, calming my mind, body, and spirit...steadying my heart. Heavenly Father, Sovereign Lord, thank you for being my safe place. Thank you for holding me when life feels uncertain and reminding me that I don't have to stand alone in these battles. Tonight, I run to You, and I rest in bed tonight in Your name. Amen! xoxo
