On Sunday at church we recieved some tragic news- the son of a pastor of a church our sister church had developed relations with has died. The boy was aged just 17 in a trip in Malawi.
This takes me back to a sermon my pastor preached- assuming we die before Christ returns there will be a day you read your Bible for the last time. There will be a last sermon/Sunday service at church you attend.
The 17 year old went on his very last flight. He attented his last Sunday sermon. That day he unexpectedly his Bible for the very last time. He was not expecting to die, least of all have his last conscious moments in the land of a Country he wasn't familiar with.
But as Christians we do not grieve the way unbelievers do. Their funerals are funerals in every sense of the word and there is zero hope for their (the dead) souls as they have not accepted Christ and his shed blood on the cross.
This 17 year old was baptised by that American pastor I mentioned a few weeks earlier- this pastor has great discernment so we can have relief knowing he was saved. That same pastor who baptised him will now be preaching at his funeral.
Pray for the 17 year old's family to be comforted during this hard time knowing he is now in heaven, in eternal bliss worshipping our Triune Thrice Holy God and also pray that God uses the godly pastor to deliver a sermon showing the hope only Christians have through the Gospel and that any unconverted family or friends come to Christ.
