I don't often get emotional but....

My mum sent me a video yesterday.

The video played- there was my mum, a decade younger than me now, in her 20s, a proud new mum gently moving baby me around, dancing, smothering me in kisses and singing the song playing in the background from the stereo "It's such a perfect day".

Man I'm tearing up typing this again.

Several things got me about this.

1. My mum's heart condition, by God's grace she is recovering great but what a journey.

2. Thinking about the fact that our Triune Thrice Holy God saw me and looked over me even then (and since eternity past), preserving my life so I could get saved for His glory. He could have caused me to die in the womb (Acts 17:25).

3. My wife's own pregnancy journey- thinking we would have memories like this, the undescribable feeling of being told you'll be a dad- next stage a nervous looking sonographer trying from all angles in a scan to find a heartbeat, leaving the room for a few minutes for a discussion and then saying "There isn't a heartbeat, I'm so sorry".

Then the phone call telling your crying mum your wife has miscarried and she won't have a grandchild.

Repeat this twice in a row for my wife and I.

4. The longing for my mum's salvation, that she may be saved by the blood of Christ.

To your third point, there is no answer.
How do you cope with that grief.

My daughter died in my arms.

All I can think of is : ‘ My Grace is sufficient for you, My power is made perfect in weakness’.
