3000 Maronite Christians live there. In communion with the Roman Catholic Church. This is their home. Now ordered to leave there by Isreal.

Tyre is a world heritage site with a Phoenecean past. Our Lord preached there, and was well received.

@peterlee The whose situation is an appalling mess. There is no easy solutution satisfactory to all: Israel and Iran each believe the other should not exist; Israel thinks Palestine should not exist.

The whole mess is run by small groups of ruthless men for their own ends, none of whom care about the civilians caught between them.
