An encouragement to evangelise
After recieving much encouragement from a member on here earlier this week, will continue posting.
There are those of us who are awful at evangelism *puts hands up*. In my former company I was there for several years- plenty of pub socials with colleagues but I admit I never shared the Gospel, I just got involved in the usual pub chatter. May I share it at this one.
I recieved some very encouraging commentary on Wednesday's Bible Study about Peter.
My pastor pointed out this I had never thought of about the Apostle Peter- the very same man who cowardly denied Christ in front of a servant girl (and unlike us he had seen Christ in the flesh) later in Acts chapter 2 went on to do a landmark sermon of the church in public in front of non believers!
May this be encouragement to those of us not gifted in evangelism- let us press on and ask God to improve it and give us opportunities to evangelise!
To conclude I believe this ties in with a concept John Piper describes as 'future grace'- which is God's power, provision, mercy, and wisdom to provide everything we need—in order to do what he wants us to do in five minutes, five weeks, five months, five years, and five thousand years from now.
If you're interested in future grace, this is a good read:
