I’m working on a cover design for The Answer to Atheist’s Handbook by Richard Wurmbrand, and I’d really value your perspective.
Each design tries to communicate faith, hope, and truth in a different way:
🕯 Cover A — A simple candle casting the shadow of a cross. Quiet, reflective, and symbolic of light in darkness.
📖 Cover B — A more detailed, classical design with gold framing and radiant light around the cross. Rich, bold, and uplifting.
Which one feels more in line with the message of the book? Which would you be more drawn to?

Between the two I favor the first one. I think it's a cleaner and less ostentatious look. The symbolism is a little more subtle as well, which makes the image less jarring. The bottom one doesn't even look like a candle shadow, it's just there. There's no point in having the candle there at all, no cleverness to it.
