No. Years ago, I decided that giving up something didn't help me, so I decided to add more meditation instead. That is helpful during Lent.

I don't believe in organized religion, and I am not healthy enough to fast for 40 days anymore, but I do respect EVERYONE who does participate in Lent. There is a member here who is giving up social media for 40 days, and another member who said the Pope told people to give up being unkind to others (I am paraphrasing). I think the idea of self-control for 40 days in any area of life is a noble idea for anyone, no matter what the reason for it is.🤔
