According to the KJV, lifespan was shortened to that number.
"And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years."
In the last chapter, the average age for a man to have his first son was 158 years. And yet here, God decides to shorten the human lifespan to 120 years. How did that work?

Think about the events in your own life where you might have died. Now, supposed you did die but the film keeps playing and you continue to exist in another reality. Other people consider you dead but you continue to exist until you reach 120 years and then you die for good. Wouldn't that make an interesting movie? I've had at least 8 events where I could have died. If I make it another 18 years I will then know that the fairytale is true.@Diotrephes I guess. But it’s still not living to 120. You died, you’re dead, game over.
