I would very respectfully add seeking protection in the Spiritual Realm as you still your heart and mind and listen to what the Spirit says.

@BritishFailedAesthetic He most certainly does speak to us in that sense. If you haven't experienced it you don't know what I am talking about.
@hippyjoe1955 False teaching gets started this way.
The Holy Spirit gets us to glorify and delight in God but 99.9999% (if not 100%) of Christians have not had the Holy Spirit talk to them.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Are you so sure about that? In the churches I have been in most Christians have experienced what I said. Those who are led of the Spirit are the children of God. Romans 8:14. I remember when some neighbours came to visit and wouldn't go home. It was close to meal time and we didn't have the food in the house to feed them. We had enough to feed our kids and if the kids weren't hungry then my wife could eat too. I would likely go hungry. I went and prayed and felt the LORD saying 'you feed them" Matthew 14:16. We prepared what little food we had and told the kids to go first. There was enough food for everyone to eat a heaping plate. The kids came back asking for seconds. There was enough food for seconds. The next morning I looked in the serving bowl and found as much food as we had started with. One day the LORD told me to go to a distant city. It was winter and the distant city was rather remote. Narrow roads no signs etc. We got about an hour into our 5 hour drive and it started to snow. Not bad but it kept getting worse. About 2 hours into the drive and it was white out conditions. I couldn't see over the front of my car. I was navigating by tufts of grass on the side of the road. I joked that I must have misunderstood God. My wife said "Jesus Help". Her lips had not finished the "P" in help before the snow stopped the wind stopped and the clouds disappeared. I grew up on the prairies. I have been in all kinds of snow storms and never have ever seen the end of a storm like that. Yes God does speak to us and were it not so your Baptist church would still be Catholic.
"However difficult and painful thy road, it is marked by the footsteps of thy Saviour; and even when thou reachest the dark valley of the shadow of death, and the deep waters of the swelling Jordan, thou wilt find his footprints there. In all places whithersoever we go, he has been our forerunner; each burden we have to carry, has once been laid on the shoulders of Immanuel."

@Kathleen23 Prayer is the Christian's native breath! Is the Bible and Gospel there?
