ACTS Prayer Model
A prayer model I learnt from my pastor on the Wednesday Bible Study. I thought it deserved a post of it's own, it's an established prayer model you may have heard of, personally I think it is for planned prayer time i.e. morning devotionals rather than spontaneous prayer.
A- Adoration Start prayer for adoring who God is. How Holy and how fearsome, He is a consuming fire. Thrice Holy, infinitely glorious. Listen to a point my pastor made and reflect on it in your prayers- even with an eternity with God, we will not even begin to scratch the surface of His glory.
C- Confession We all sin and we will all sin until we come face to face with Christ. 1 John Chapter 1 makes it explicitly clear that if you or me claim not to sin, we'd be liars. But let us not just confess our sin and be sorry, let us strive to do a 180 and turn from it.
T- Thanksgiving Thank God for all the blessings in your life- big or small. Thank God during life's big events- when I get employed again, I myself must remember not to let the flesh win and pat myself on the back, God gets all the thanks! You can thank God for your hobbies you enjoy- if you love astronomy, you can thank Him for His creation of space, etc. The list goes on!
S- Supplements Pray for others- Missionaries, persecuted church, salvation for the unsaved (especially those in your life), and of course remember in your prayers you should come last!
