Ministers I have heard never gave an answer to that question and was irritated that it was asked because they don't have an answer going by the theologies that were passed down throughout the centuries, except one and I feel his theology is flawed. He taught God created other humans besides Adam and Eve. 20 minutes into each of the videos he begins to explain.

Now pastor Murray is a good teacher but his theology is concerning the creation of a few male and females is flawed because Genesis 3:20 tells us Eve is the Mother of all living, so how could she be the mother of all living if God created other people.
I am an old Earth believer, I believe the Earth is as old as science indicate if not older.... I believe Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the Tree of Life and had a form of immortality before they sinned as indicated in Genesis 3:22..... I believe before Adam and Eve sinned they had many, many, many children. And those children had children and so on and migrated to other areas of the lands..... I believe it was the fruit of the Tree of Life that healed any damage that would have been done from what is now considered inbreeding..... I believe the Bible from Cain and Abel is written about what happened after Adam and Eve sinned throughout the generations and prophesied what will happen in generations to come until the return of the Lord.... I believe it has been just over 6 to 10,000 years since the sin of Adam and Eve and not the age of the Earth.
But either way there were people here who God told not to kill Cain and Cain feared those people, so either Eve is not the mother of all living or Cain and Abel were not her first born.
And God did put a curse on Eve when he told her she would have pain and sorrow in her giving birth from that time forward Genesis 3:16.
To each their own way of belief but those who believe in the 6000 year creation could not explain where those people come from, considering Cain and Abel were the first two and the only two mentioned until the birth of Seth and from Seth lineage down to Methuselah.
Cain's wife was a relative, as all of mankind is related, in fact every Creed, nationality, race if you so choose are all brothers and sisters even if you look at it scientifically. Men's shortcomings, greed, need for power and control, differences of thought, and mutation cause separations. In my belief Cains wife lived in the Land of Nod. And the Land of Nod had a name, did it have a name, who gave it that name. Lands were often named after the founder of occupied area.

@hippyjoe1955 odd question?
Why not ask how many women are mentioned in genealogical records in the entire Old Testament?
Women are generally listed as wives and mothers throughout the Old Testament.

@Charity So if the women are not mentioned elsewhere in the Bible why would you expect them to be mentioned as daughters of Eve?

Apparently you didn't read what I wrote or you put in your own words. I never singled out women, I said children. Why would you even think that I thought women should be mentioned in genealogy. Because I said Cain and Abel were the only two mentioned then Seth...... I'm speaking of sons / s o n s they had two sons mentioned before Cain slew Abel..... Only an imbecile would think that no girls were born, if there were no women there could be no reproduction, no continuation.
Genesis 6 mentions women when it relates daughters were born men, and that's before the flood within the first thousand years give or take a few hundred
And if you read what I said correctly there is nowhere that I say

I think you should go on an Alpha Course. That will help you a lot.
A really good commentary on Genesis is that of Phil Moore, part of his 60 bite size insights series. That will open up the book a little to you.
Somehow , I think you are thinking that Genesis is a sort of Biblical Wikipedia.
My degree incidentally is in Theoretical Physics, I assume you think of the world in terms of Newtonian Physics. Not a Quantum one. The Book of Genesis was written in an even earlier one. Its revelations resonate as well today as they did when it was first written down. None of us are without sin. Meditate on the message behind it, and see how it fits in with God’s Grace and the efficacy of the Cross.

I know the Holy Bible very well.
I don’t qualify myself as a scholar but I am very comfortable with the Bible and believe ALL of it.
The Bible is not intended as a total history of creation. There is enough there to qualify the Big Bang” as vapid and just an imagination perpetuated by scientists. First Hubble then Hawking and now Penrose but it is a funny thing how data and evidence changes everything and the theory is currently lacking.
I diverged.
Eve is the mother of everyone.
She had daughters not recorded in the Bible.
The Bible is intended for salvation and not a history. The New Testament is awesome since it points to our Savior which is why we celebrate Christmas! after living a very long time; it would be possible.

Question 1:
Cain was worried that anyone might want to get revenge for Abel, his brother since Cain murdered him.
So to answer your question: anyone from anywhere that wanted justice for Abel and that knew this happened might want to take his life as he took his brother’s life. But God had compassion on Cain as far as not allowing anyone to kill him.
13And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear. 14Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. 15And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

I have wondered about this too, it's my belief that God created other people at or shortly after the same time that Adam and Eve were created.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 Or it could be that they simply committed incest. Cain married his sister. It is not the only time the Bible speaks of incest. Abram married Sari his half sister. Issac married his cousin. It is widely suspected that Canaan was the product of Noah's wife having drunken sex with her son Ham. Lot had sex with both his daughters and they had sons as a result of that sex.

Cains extended brothers and sisters. from Adam and Eve but also from Adam and Eve's other decendants.. Remember people lived for many hundreds of years in those times.. Adam would have still been alive when the 10th generation of His decendants had been born on earth..
Note the Bible does not say Cain and Able where the only children of Eve nor does it say that Eve only had Cain and Able as sons.. People read many things into the Bible.. things that the Bible never states..
The story of Cain and Able simply document the first murder carried out and established what sacrafice would be acceptable to God ( Blood Sacrafice )..

The Bible doesn't list every child Adam and Eve had. Were children born to them in the Garden? We don't know. The Bible doesn't say. What it does say is that Eve is the mother of all.
helenoftroy2000 · 22-25, F
they were the othger people thatr god created before adam and eve
ThickVon1119 · 31-35, F
@helenoftroy2000 are relevant books in the bible that made refernecs to them ?
helenoftroy2000 · 22-25, F
@ThickVon1119 they were in the books that king james took out before he compiled his version

@in10RjFox In the paradigm of Newtonian Physics that may seem a valid question.
But the current theory of the Universe is that it started with a point. There was an explosion and the space-time continuum expanded after that. This is known as The Big Bang. . The implication is that like space, time had a starting point. This is the view of the present paradigm of Quantum Electrodynamics and the General Theory of relativity. So in this view point, that is a non question.

@peterlee There are certain eternal philosophies that can never be resolved and shall remain unresolved forever. Any theory is just an assumption to create a concrete foundation (pls note my word concrete) to bury all arguments and interpretations of the past, so as to make the future generations to construct from that foundation and not dig the past again.
Big bang is one such stupid theory and assumption to make belive the new generation and it looks like you are part of that generation. But we all know that something has to be there to explode and any formation after is only a reformation.
So, GOD was invented by these group of people to create such a concrete layer and basement, to build further theories. And they were also taught not to question GOD. And that's when another group started creating fictional characters of gods and established god in such a way so the children grow with these beliefs which form as a concrete foundation in their mind, so they never question or interpret when they grow up. And thus we see many develop as fanatics.
