Think you should ask the one who created god.

@in10RjFox In the paradigm of Newtonian Physics that may seem a valid question.

But the current theory of the Universe is that it started with a point. There was an explosion and the space-time continuum expanded after that. This is known as The Big Bang. . The implication is that like space, time had a starting point. This is the view of the present paradigm of Quantum Electrodynamics and the General Theory of relativity. So in this view point, that is a non question.
@peterlee There are certain eternal philosophies that can never be resolved and shall remain unresolved forever. Any theory is just an assumption to create a concrete foundation (pls note my word concrete) to bury all arguments and interpretations of the past, so as to make the future generations to construct from that foundation and not dig the past again.

Big bang is one such stupid theory and assumption to make belive the new generation and it looks like you are part of that generation. But we all know that something has to be there to explode and any formation after is only a reformation.

So, GOD was invented by these group of people to create such a concrete layer and basement, to build further theories. And they were also taught not to question GOD. And that's when another group started creating fictional characters of gods and established god in such a way so the children grow with these beliefs which form as a concrete foundation in their mind, so they never question or interpret when they grow up. And thus we see many develop as fanatics.
