So no Christianity then. Ok.

@BritishFailedAesthetic mlk in particular was a minister
@Guitarman123 He did great things for America.

But that doesn't make him a Biblically solid minister, he had heretical views on many things.

@BritishFailedAesthetic so applying his Christian teachings to the material world is wrong? He was an advocate for labour rights. As well as an opponent of capitalism, racism and the Vietnam war
@Guitarman123 He had heretical views that were not Christian i.e. denying the Ressurection and Virgin Birth of Christ.

Racism is always wrong from a Biblical perspective.

Christians will have different views on the other two.
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic he was more concerned with the material reality and the teachings of jesus.
@Guitarman123 Right. So he cared more about social issues than the Gospel of Christ.
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic jesus cared about social issues
@Guitarman123 Part of his teachings.

But the main thing is that he shed his blood on the cross so that all those who trust in this can be forgiven of their sins and not go to the hell they deserve. What's more is that on the third day He rose again.

That is the most important thing to know about Him.

@BritishFailedAesthetic part of his teachings that many so called Christians ignore. Which is why i respect mlk, hardie and benn. They applied those teachings to the physical world and fought for a fairer and more just society. Hardie in particular saw those who simply go to church and pray as arrogant and self serving
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic these teachings do not match what many so called Christians follow

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have rusted, and their rust will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up for treasure for the last days. Behold, the wages of the labourers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and in pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.[32]
—James 5:1–6
@Guitarman123 All of your people you mention were not Christians. Yeah Christians don't follow Christ's teachings perfectly as we are sinners too.

BTW that refers to rich people who are outside of Christ and as for me- well. You are aware I'm on Universal Credit right? 😅
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic keir hardie was a Christian. Tony benn was a Christian. Mlk was not only a Christian but a minister so fully preached the teachings of the religion. Difference between them and you is they applied it to the real world
@Guitarman123 Christianity is about the Gospel and glory of God. Everything else is secondary.
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic in other pacifies your arrogance as opposed to wanting to make material conditions better for all people. benns mum was a theologian and a feminist.
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic tony benn was incredibly committed to Christianity
@Guitarman123 https://tribunemag.co.uk/2020/12/tony-benn-on-revolutionary-christianity

Again. A secular guy using Christian teachings for political purposes. Not a believer on Christ.
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic devoted follower of Christianity
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic they're more religious than Christian nationalists will ever be
@Guitarman123 Ok. I'm not a Christian nationalist.
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic just someone who believes in metaphysics. Christian socialists and Christian atheists express the only form of it I'll accept. Ive no time for god
@Guitarman123 Yes, your time as a finite human being is far more important than an eternally glorious God! 😆
Guitarman123 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic it is as i live in the physical world and i dont believe in god
