The bible isn’t a history book. It’s a book of fictional mythology. Why should that creation story be more valid than other mythology?

No one said the Bible is our history book within there is a lot of history that has been proven that is written in the Bible.
You choose to look at it as mythology go right ahead, and guess what the church deemed what was mythology and what wasn't.

I'll give you two and there are more: what science has now determined that was written in the Bible thousands of years before the study of science began, especially that of the current days.
God created everything from nothing ---- Hawkins states nothing existed before the Big bang singularity. And so far none has proven that Hawkins was not correct.

Genesis 1:3 God said let there be LIGHT ---- from the study of science within seconds of the Big bang singularity there was a burst of cosmic microwave radiation that lit up the entire space WITH LIGHT, remnants can still be seen today with the proper equipment. And not the light that came into existence some 300,000 years later
that the eyes can see.
