The community of Zike

"Where is your God? Let him come and save you!"

These words were heard by Christians in the village in Zike farming community, from the article I will describe the experience from the perspective of the Christian villagers.

. Jerry- One of the first to hear gunshots and went to warn others, his sons ran ahead and his wife Issi hid in the bush. Jerry's son Kaja was caught and killed and Issi's cough betrayed her hiding place and she was killed without mercy.

. Danjuma- he awoke and got his household of 10 to flee into the bush. On returning, he tragically found his wife had died but their young baby miraculously survived.

. Asabe- Her home was at the crossroads and she had no time to flee, her 14 year old son was taken out and 'slaughtered like a goat'. She hid with her mother in law and her daughter hid in one room of the house, her husband, and her other son in another. The militants set fire to her house, the burning house got so hot the family cried out, hoping the militants would end their agony. Her husband and other son died of their injuries but Asabe, her mother in law and daughter survived but require ongoing treatment for their burns.

. Joshua- Joshua had lost his other family to other attacks but his son Daniel had survived, in this attack he went to be with the Lord.

Nigerian authorities are turning a blind eye and our own disgraceful media in the UK are calling these attacks a "Herder-farmer conflict". Literal shame on them.

When a Release International partner came to visit, despite the loss, there was a church service filled with singing, dancing and praising God. What a humbling lesson to us believers in Christ who sulk when we have much less problems.

John 13:35
1 John 2:9–11
1 John 3:10
1 John 3:14–15
1 John 4:7–8
1 John 4:20–21

These verses will now be pinned in every article about the persecuted church for every proffesing Christian to read and why they should care about their persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ.

Media blackout in the west. You only get to hear these happenings if you search or stumble. It's very bad in Africa right now. Most don't know or understand why.

"Militant" is a euphemism that the woke media use for merciless terrorists.

I pray for the souls of the cruelly murdered innocents.
@Thinkerbell We can know that the Christians killed are in heaven as they are in Christ.

The souls of the terrorists definitely need praying for though.

@BritishFailedAesthetic

Yes, the terrorists need a prayer, but the way I feel now, I wouldn't mean it.

I feel more like when Judas' betrayal led to Jesus' arrest, as told in Bach's St Matthew Passion:

"Sind Blitze, sind Donner in Wolken verschwunden?

Have lightning and thunder disappeared in the clouds?

Eröffne den feurigen Abgrund, o Hölle,

Open the fiery abyss, O Hell,

Zertrümmre, verderbe, verschlinge, zerschelle mit plötzlicher Wut

Crush, destroy, devour, smash with sudden rage

Den falschen Verräter, das mördrische Blut!

The false betrayer, the murderous blood!"

@Thinkerbell Very true.

But I am reminded by my pastor if there were a Open Doors 2000 years ago they would have wrote about the Apostle Paul himself as a persecutor before he came to Christ.

its a damn picnic for us really
@Matt85 It's not easy but nothing compared to what the brothers and sisters in Christ face around the world.

May we follow their example and learn from them.
