And truth be told Elohim can be traced back to the ancient Sumerians which founded the first civilizations. Enlil, El, Elil, Ellil, various buildings and pronunciation by different peoples tribes of that time such as the Arkadians or the Babylonians.
Christians are not going to admit that but when you do an in-depth study you will find it is an extremely strong possibility of being accurate even down to Gilmesh and the flood / Noah and the flood.

You say creation story don't make any sense do a in-depth study and comparison with scientific theories from The Big bang singularity /let there be light, to each event written in Genesis. And you have to do an in-depth study and find out all of the new information discoveries that has been released.
