Went to a revial tonight, it was super awesome, powerful, and heart felt. The little pastor looked like the monopoly guy, but no top hat.
The other pastor looked like Kernal Sanders off KFC but no bowtie.
Both older men, pissibly mid 70 or so, talked a powerful sermon and tag teamed it. The monopoly preacher talked about sinners, the KFC pastor about saints.
In the end, Ezekiel and dry bones chapter 36 maybe?? And Ezekiel chapter 33 were mentioned..my favorite part of this sermon was when asked at decision time and it was this:
We both invite you to Gods table. Where will you set? Theres two paths to choose from, but only one will make eternity worth eating the words for...heaven or hell?
I felt that!
So, i ask u..where will ur eternity end?
If you're not right now, todays time to follow Jesus. Ask him to come into your life, forgive your sins, and give you a new heart. Start today! Jesus loves u..sinners have a future, saibts have a past..lets all seek Jesus!

Yes, and start by concentrating on the Gospels so that you take in the Christ's view of things, including Jewish Scripture (which He quite consistently misquotes...hmmmm).

@SomeMichGuy i dont know ANYTHING about jewish stuff, but i do know 2 things, im saved, and i got a mission to fulfill
@CloudAngel80 Jewish Scripture is the Old Testament (with a few other books not typically found in Protestant Bibles), but it includes the text upon which the revival pastors preached.

If you are Christian, focus on the Person, Character, and Life of Jesus.

@SomeMichGuy i am non denomination. I was raised by granparents in a baptist home, baptized assembly of God as a teenager, then rededicated my life to Christ Jesus today at a revival. I read old testament, uh pentatuke right first 5 books of old testament..genesis, exodus, leviticus, deuteronomy, and ive been in Joshuah, Daniel, Psalms, Proverbs, read Nehemiah, Joanah, Amos and studdied in bible college the newer testament. My favorite is Joshua..he has strength, unshakable faith, and i relate a lot to him. Favorite in new testament is Definitely Peter..bold, essentric, yet shy and misunderstood 😅.
@CloudAngel80 Your denomination means nothing with respect to what I said.

But definitely concentrate on the Gospels.

Why do you think Simon is shy and misunderstood?
CloudAngel80 · 41-45, F
@SomeMichGuy well before Simon Peter was called to be the rock, he was hanging back..i think he loved to be nearest to Jesus when he said, the deciple whom Jesus loved..yet denied him 3 times and walked away weeping at calvary. Shy as in the interview of, yeah i knew him..but dont know him..head knowledgeable but heart broken shy..maybe shy the wrong word..
I understand what you mean. All 4 gospels have different accounts too..cuz matthew was a tax collector..possibly seeing Jesus from a money view..luke a doctor..medicale perception, mark and john fishermen and scribes..writing experiences..we all have something to learn and i enjoy this!
@CloudAngel80 No idea how you are pulling that out of the plain reading of the text.

Peter isn't shy when he denies Jesus.
CloudAngel80 · 41-45, F
@SomeMichGuy like i said maybe shy was not correct word?
@CloudAngel80 Read Jesus' words at v. 31.

Have you had "teachers" or pastors who suggested this?

Adding imaginary background info to the Bible is a too-common theme in some parts of "Christianity". Luther would rightly reject these attempts to satisfy one's curiosity by making up extra-Biblical stories.
