Curious: Are there any Christians out there today (or anyone else for that matter) who think Humans are not Animals?

I've seen it here and there that some people (usually religious) don't want to believe that human are animals.
Which is crazy to me because what else are we?! lol

of course we are animals, we just developed faster and better, obvious apes are cousins, and we share some genes with other mammals.

I suppose you could say "faster" in terms of how our social structure has allowed us to make large impacts upon our environment.

Well we share about 50% coding DNA with Bananas relating to fundamental things like cellular metabolism and makeup.
We share something closer to 1% of our entire genome with Bananas.

So yeah, not very closely related
