People still believe that demons and other things you mentioned are still hovering around them, who don't believe in God.

Now there are a lot of things the ancients did not know concerning biology and science and wasn't supposed to know, that knowledge was reserved for the last days, which began after the resurrection of Christ / as written in Daniel 12:4 knowledge shall increase in the last days and people will be moving to and fro.

I wonder why many keep thinking the ancients did not have a sense of reality, they did and they recorded what they could from what was available to them at the time. But mainly through Word of mouth.
