Sermon Notes 03/08/25- birthday edition
Great party last night with my friends and family celebrating my birthday! This meant going to the church I used to attend!
One of my mates who attended stayed around but thankfully woke up on time so I could walk him back to the station and head to church!
. The notes start even on the notices- we were reminded one of the many reasons why church is essential in our walk with Christ- to encourage one another. And yes that means in person. Christ does not intend for us to be lone wolves in our walk.
Another reason ofcourse is to give God glory in corporate worship!
. We are not naturally friends with God. This happens when we believe on Christ!
. God seeks us out- not the other way around!
. An eternal friendship with God who never forsakes us- what greater treasure can you think of?
. Let's be blunt- John 5:14 'You are My friends if you do what I command you.' No easy believism here! Do not get confused. Our works will never justify us but if we truly believe on Christ we will do good works, grow and obey Christ!

Don't ever be prideful and think our fairh is being sustained by ourselves, without the Holy Spirit we would not believe and our faith would inevitably die.
