It's a comforting thought to think that this earth is eventually going to pass away.

Fellow Christians, I know for some of you it can be frustrating sometimes to see the ungodly living in prosperity and increasing in riches

Psalms 73:12 - Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

And it can be frustrating to see that the wicked and their works are loved by the world, because the whole world is in wickedness

1 John 5:19 - And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

But remember, all of that will pass away. None of it will be remembered.

Isaiah 65:17 - For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Revelation 20:11 - And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Anything that was not done for Jesus Christ and to glorify Him will not last. Think about that. All the worldly works of art, music, film, all of the scientific inventions, al the technological advancements, all of it will pass away and be forgotten.

Matthew 24:35 - Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

God's word will never pass away, so cherish it, read it every day and follow it.

The "stars" in Hollywood are not the real stars. We who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ are the real stars who will shine with glory for eternity.

Daniel 12:3 - And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Turning many to righteousness is winning souls to Christ. The more that you turn to righteousness, the brighter you will shine in eternity.

As Jesus said in Mark 16:15, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Remember one thing you can't do in Heaven is witness to people and get them saved. One thing that you will regret in Heaven is those you did not witness to, because once you're in Heaven, you no longer have the opportunity to share the Gospel with the lost and get them saved. It's too late for that then. Really think about that. So witness to as many people as you can while you are here and still have the chance.

And again, it is so important to remember that everything in this world changes. Why spend your time setting your affections on the things of a constantly changing world that is all going to burn?

But God - The Lord Jesus Christ never changes.

Malachi 3:6 - For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Only one life, 'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.

The most logical conclusion one could ever come to is to spend your time worshipping that which never changes and is eternal - The living, risen savior - the Lord Jesus Christ - who is now beyond space, time and matter, as shown in the Holy Word of God which is also eternal: "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." - Isaiah 40:8.

This life is one dash between two dates and after that is all of eternity. It's literally the height of mental insanity to spend your time focusing more on the temporal things that only please for a season within that little dash rather than eternity.......that goes on forever.

Don't pursue things that don't transfer over at death. Live your life cognizant of the fact that your life is short and spend your time glorifying the eternal and risen Jesus Christ and set your affection on Heavenly things.

Colossians 3:2 - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Matthew 6:19 - Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Invest your time in that which is not seen and eternal, not the things which are seen and temporal.

2 Corinthians 4:18 - While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Remember, Ecclesiastes 12:3-14 states, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

Keep time and judgment in mind.

People spend a lot of time philosophizing over why we are here and our purpose, but it is really simple. Our purpose here is to fear God and keep his commandments. It's really that simple, but everyone likes to complicate it.

Spend your time fearing God and keeping his commandments. You will be very glad that you did.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all the brethren. Goodbye. I love you.

So you're one of those people who get off on the idea of everyone dying.
