A documentary on the cross.

Some posts seem to portray God more like a heartbroken suitor than the sovereign Lord of all. That concerns me.

There’s a portrayal of God here that feels overly sentimental — as though He were driven by need rather than perfect, sovereign love.

The Lord is unchanging — His justice, mercy, and sovereignty are the same from Genesis to Revelation.

Some posts sound like God is desperate for us — but God has never lacked anything. He is eternally complete in Himself (Acts 17:25, John 17:5). His love flows from fullness, not need.

Language that makes Jesus sound like a divine boyfriend misses the biblical picture. He is our Redeemer, High Priest, and King — not a passive lover hoping we’ll notice Him.

So I watched Lukewarm: Why the Cross with my wife on Sunday night, and I’m genuinely thankful for what it gets right. It pulls no punches about the seriousness of sin, the centrality of the cross, and the call to a life not half-hearted, but wholly given to Christ.

Do not get me wrong- this is not a works based salvation, otherwise none of us would enter heaven and the cross would mean nothing. But it shows the seriousness of our sin and what Christ (God the Son) went through on the cross- including being abandoned by God and having the full fury of God's wrath poured out on him.

I have seen the fruits of disciples of posts of overly sweet, cuddly sentimental views on God and the fruits? Being rude to other posters, not caring about Christian family and not having church membership- a huge red flag.

If you're in the UK you can watch this for free on Amazon Prime- American brothers and sisters- you have to pay a small fee to rent it but it is worth it, great for a family movie night!
