From the history of man to the 19th 20th centuries knowledge didn't compare to that of today. Man has advanced from chariots to putting man in space in the past hundred years. Technology as well as better understanding.

Man was basically at a standstill in the night hours, traveling was walking or depending on an animal. The 20th century man now is traveling 24/7, day and night, night and day, continually to and fro.

@BlueSkyKing are you comparing the ancient ships that sailed across the ocean against those of days technological advancement of the 20th century and beyond to that of the ocean liners that sail across the ocean in half the amount of time or submarines, to automobiles, to airplanes, helicopters, radios, televisions, refrigerators, stoves, light bulbs, satellites, rockets, drilling equipment, cell phones, computers at all that can be done with them, cameras, advanced knowledge of the universe, advanced knowledge and medicines, advanced knowledge of science, the ability to clone, etc etc etc.

The Book of Revelation says in the last few verses tells us whatever we're doing, whatever we believe, keep doing it and keep believing it, so please do.
