Final judgment- Pay attention Christians! Jesus words!

The Sheep and the Goats
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

@Carazaa The fairytale says that you shouldn't help sinners. So, the Matthew passage is saying that you will get punished for using your judgment.

@Diotrephes Jesus tells us to help people, yes.

The Jesus character never gave anyone any money. That pissed off the Apostles and they regarded him as a hypocrite, which led to his death.

@Diotrephes Jesus gave people bread. But we don't live for bread alone, but the word of God.

Jesus gave people bread. But we don't live for bread alone, but the word of God.

The "bread" is a metaphor for his teachings. He didn't operate a bakery.

@Diotrephes You are right. But he multiplied the loaves of bread.

You are right. But he multiplied the loaves of bread.

Those stories illustrate the power of hospitality and giving. The people were out of town so, like the apostles, they brought their own food carried under their robes. When it got time to eat the apostles exposed their own food but they couldn't eat it without offering it to others first. When they started walking among the crowd asking the people if they wanted their food, it embarrassed the people so the people started revealing their own food. When it was all over there was an excess amount that probably got tossed.

One of the takeaways from the stories is just because someone doesn't seem to have any resources doesn't mean that he doesn't. He doesn't want to reveal what he has because he might have to share it with others.

The stories tie in with Matthew 25:44 (NKJV) =
“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’

&

Ezekiel 16:49 (NKJV) = "Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy."

@Diotrephes Jesus IS the bread! We eat his body and drink his blood when we take communion in remembrance of him in every church around the world.!

@Diotrephes I believe that our beliefs can either lead us near, or lead us away from the Lord... Even knowing the scriptures and picking out the ones that satisfy our hunger for rejecting God instead of embracing Him fully...I've seen scriptures lead us near or far, I've seen preachers lead us near or far, and also our own discernment lead us near or far.... I believe that those who are chosen, have chosen carefully to be lead near to the Good Shepherd our God! And they Love Him Completely!

Well, the fairytale says that God chose the ones who will believe in him before they were born, and that if you are not in that group, you won't believe in him. So, as an individual, whether you believe or not, is not your decision.

@Diotrephes To not have faith is definitely self-mutilation. Repent and have faith so you will be blessed. 🙂

Matthew 15:24 (TLB) ="24 Then he said to the woman, “I was sent to help the Jews—the lost sheep of Israel—not the Gentiles.”"

Romans 8:28-30 (ERV) = "28 We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. These are the people God chose, because that was his plan. 29 God knew them before he made the world. And he decided that they would be like his Son. Then Jesus would be the firstborn of many brothers and sisters. 30 God planned for them to be like his Son. He chose them and made them right with him. And after he made them right, he gave them his glory."

1 Corinthians 1:21 (CEV) = "God was wise and decided not to let the people of this world use their wisdom to learn about him. Instead, God chose to save only those who believe the foolish message we preach."
