An Unexpected Response

So at the Wednesday monthly prayer meeting (3 Bible studies, 1 prayer meeting per month) I got talking to the pastor at fellowship after.

I genuinely value those moments as we're usually talking to others after fellowship, he is a man in high demand 🤭

Our conversation led to the topic of backsliding, man, I really got into this and told all the pastor about those days of walking away from God- hardcore partying, clubbing, etc.

When I had finished the conversation, did the towering pastor (who I literally have to look up to 🤭) point down at me and accuse me?

Nope. He simply smiled and said: "Isn't it wonderful that we contribute nothing to our salvation except the sin that made it necessary?"

And that folks is why we need to have fellowship at a solid Gospel Church, if we are in a Country where it is safe to do so.

Sounds like a nice bloke

@BritishFailedAesthetic Fair enough :)
@Matt85 There was a prayer session where the Holy Spirit was strong- but it resulted in people being convicted of their sinfulness before a Holy Triune God not in babbling.

Oh and by the way, also it didn't result in pretending to physically heal others for money 🤭

Yes we need to repent our sins, and pastors need to call sin out and not excuse it. Jesus didn't die for righteous men but sinners!
@Carazaa Errr.... my pastor didn't excuse it.

There is a difference.

@BritishFailedAesthetic I didn't say he excused it, I am saying pastors need to call out sin, ask for repentance and have faith in Jesus!
@Carazaa That's what my pastor does, he is particularly great on this and he does not mince his words on sin.

If it's not a church with the Gospel at its heart...it's not a church. 🙂
@FreddieUK Amen!
