People in my Christian walk
I will remind everyone of the benefits of fellowship and tell you of people who helped in my Christian walk.
Bible Study Teacher- When I was in a Christian youth group, newly saved, she did great Bible study sessions. But she gave me something- one prayer meeting at a house she did some prayers with a Barnabas Aid prayer diary- and from there God gave me my passion for the persecuted church!
Bible Study Hosts- They hosted Bible Studies at their house- they were such a lovely, hospitable couple in their 30s. Both of them came from Sheffield too! I knew the exact background of the husband because if you come from Sheffield and just have a generic neutral, formal accent (🤭). She had a good proper Sheffield accent though! They were great examples of Christian love.
Vicar #1- Oh yes the Anglican Paul Washer 😅 his sermons felt like a sword to the heart and reminded me of just how dependent we are on God for our eternal salvation.
Vicar #2- Such a gentle, meek face and voice... SUCH BRUTAL SERMONS 🤭 expect a very clear Gospel presentation with each sermon and a great description of the majesty of God.
Vicar #3 His sermons are intense and lightened only by dad jokes. If you've been on Christian YouTube for awhile think Pastor Tim Conway from I'll Be Honest back in the day for the intensity of his sermons.
Vicar #4 Went down to the coast for my wife's work when I had study leave. Went down to Church on a Sunday, A Sri Lankan man who gave a great sermon on Adam and Eve, original sin and the Gospel. Again, proof you can still get good Anglican vicars.
Wednesday Bible Study Pastor- Oh this guy is the best pastor I have ever seen and I know with certainty that I will never meet someone else like him.
His glorious description of God's sovereignty, glory, etc. His clear Gospel presentations after EVERY sermon and study.
If you go to a sermon of his, don't bring in any idols as his sermons will SMASH them. I can still remember his sermon on standing before Christ on judgement day- the closest sermon I will ever get to experiencing what it was like to hear a sermon during the Great Awakening and the conviction that came with it.
