Many people think that they are criticizing Christianity when they say that it is a bloody religion, but here's the thing: it's all about the blood.

The blood is the life of the flesh. People will ask why did Jesus Christ have to be pierced and bleed? Why the blood? It is a statute. And Blood is the most powerful substance on earth, especially the perfect and pure blood of God!

Matthew 26:28 - For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Colossians 1:14 - "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"

Romans 5:9 - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Hebrews 9:12-14 - Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 9:22 - And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

What's wrong with the fact that Christianity is a bloody religion? Listen, the life of the flesh is in the blood. Christianity is alive. The Bible is alive. It is a living book. What was it that made the high priest robe so fair in the Old Testament? His garments were sprinkled with blood. What was it that was put on the mercy seat to take away the sins? It was blood. What was it that Jesus Christ sweated in the Garden of Gethsemane? It was blood. What makes the robes in heaven so fair? The blood.

Revelation 7:14 - And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

It's kind of strange that so many people in the 21st century are so backwards that they are repulsed by a religion that is based on the LIFE of the flesh.

When the Bible says in Proverbs 20:30, "The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly." It is interesting to think about this verse from a scientific lens. Think about what happens when you have a bruise. When you have a wound or are bruised in some way, the blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil because your body is sending blood to that region and your blood is there cleansing the area of infection. In your blood are components of your immune system, like white blood cells, that are going to cleanse away evil. Well, Jesus Christ's perfect and pure blood washes away our sin infection! Praise The Lord.

The Bible is thousands of years ahead of science when it says that the life of the flesh is in the blood, because science did not know this until the 19th century. Science had no idea until then that information is in the blood, but the Bible knew for thousands of years.

We all know that just by taking a blood sample, a doctor can evaluate the health issues and conditions of a person. And the discovery of healing through blood transfusions was a game changer. A blood transfusion replenishes lost blood. But long before science discovered about this biological truth, the Bible has already spoken of it.

For 3000 years bloodletting, which is the removal of blood (originated in ancient Egypt) was a popular way doctors treated most sicknesses. From cutting to lychees…the problem was too much blood. Imagine having a common cold and the doctor gets the knife out! Many people died from this horrible treatment method. George Washington, the first President of the United States happened to be one of them.

Now we know blood is vital for life like the Bible says and the blood tells us so much about our health and what is going on in our body. Instead of bloodletting we now do blood transfusions.

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul." Leviticus 17:11

1 John 1:7 - But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the lamb? Are you fully trusting in his grace this hour? Are you washed in the blood of the lamb?

None of that has anything to do with the fact that christianity has an inexcusably murderous history.

@tindrummer You're thinking of Roman Catholicism, which is NOT Biblical Christianity.
@RobinRightwild The genocidal behaviour of the British (mainly English) colonialists were done, on the whole, under protestantism. It's no better than catholicism and the one thing that colonialism both British and continental European colonialism have in common is that the excuse was they were doing so "in god's name".
Buckets of blood are splashed over the pages of the Old Testament, and there is a good reason. Blood was the price for atonement. The 17th chapter of Leviticus, which deals with the sacrifice of animals, explains why:

For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you for making atonement for your lives on the altar; for, as life, it is the blood that makes atonement. (Leviticus 17:11)

The killing of an animal to extract its blood and “get right with God” was a very early Israelite practice. In fact, immediately after the Ten Commandments were recited in Exodus 20, the first order God gave to his people was: “Kill something."

The Lord said to Moses: Thus you shall say to the Israelites: “You have seen for yourselves that I spoke with you from heaven. You shall not make gods of silver alongside me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold. You need make for me only an altar of earth and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your offerings of well-being, your sheep and your oxen; in every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.” (Exodus 20:22–24)

God wanted praise, and what better way to get it than by killing? Shedding blood was how “I cause my name to be remembered,” he told us.

“After the Ten Commandments and the mandate to slaughter animals, the next thing the Lord Jealous talked about was how to buy and sell slaves. He then lectured for three more chapters about numerous laws. Finally, when the day of droning pronouncements was over, what was the first thing the people did?

He [Moses] rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and set up twelve pillars, corresponding to the twelve tribes of Israel. He sent young men of the people of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed oxen as offerings of well-being to the Lord. Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he dashed against the altar. (Exodus 24:4–6)

After receiving the commandments from the mountain, the people celebrated, but not with a beer party. They threw a blood party.”

The reality is that the mainstream religions of today go back to bronze age cults that were combined and tweeked on papyrus and sheep skin parchment by Roman scribes and monks with additions of midrash, numerology, and modifications to satisfy the politics of the day in individual works. These were then translated, selected, tweaked, and compiled into scrolls and books. Over a thousand years they have been reinterpreted and modified like a series of poems into the texts we read and some folks memorize and fondly recite.

Reminds me of BioShock games, how crazy the people are. Reminds me of that.

Sounds psychotic.
I don't think that's what they mean by "bloody". They mean that believers do barbaric things in barbaric times (and hope you won't notice that atheists do barbaric things in civilized times)
